This will definitely help Richard having a "bye" in the first round, since he is in the final in Lyon. It will allow Richard to prepare and recuperate simultaneously, which is wonderful for him Very Happy Onward and upward for our Fantastique French Phenom Very Happy I'm still hopeful for a positive draw for him in Paris, France Smile GASQUET ALL THE WAY Exclamation As always, ALLEZ RICHARD Very Happy

It would be funny if he had to play Marc in the 2nd round after playing him in the final of Lyon.

I'm assuming that Warwrinka is going to win since he's fresher and is a very talented player. I am hoping though that Marc wins, but at least the draw isn't terrible this time around.

Possible 3rd round match with Rafael or Marat (or Arnaud) Shocked

Cheska, I certainly hope not. What makes Richard Gasquet a well-rounded gifted male tennis player is that he can indeed excel and adapt his tennis game in both singles competition and the doubles tennis tournaments. That's primarily the reason that I do admire him so very much. Actually, there are various reasons why I love him like most do here on his forum. His downright determination, devotion, grit, fighting spirit, never say die attitude/approach on the tennis court. Of course, he is easy on the eye so to speak Wink Wink What can I say he's just poetry in magical mystical magnificent motion with sophisticated style Smile Grosjean/Gasquet would make an outstanding duo against any doubles pair out on the tennis circuit. Still hopeful for a wonderful tennis draw for Richard Smile Hopefully, I'm not asking too much Mad I'm so thankful he has a first round "bye" it would definitely help him to rest/recuperate/prepare for his opponent in the second round simultaneously. he certainly deserves some rest. Looking at the draw for Paris, Richard has a bye in the first round, then he plays the winner of the Wawrinka/Gicquel match. If he wins that, he could play Soderling or possibly Safin in the third round. Yes, this is starting to sound like deja vu after the Lyon tournament. I hope it becomes deja vu for those other players and that Richard beats them again. 'Wink'

Other possible opponents down the road in Richard's half of the draw include Berdych, Murray, Blake, and Haas -- all formidable players, but all opponents whom Richard has beaten or, I believe, can beat.

If Richard gets to the final, his opponent will likely be Federer. I say it's about time for Richie to beat him again. Bring it on! Let's go, Richard!!

The latest draw is at:

I think we'll have to wait to see that because Federer is out Confused

Now that Federer is out, his half of the draw is wide open. Davydenko, Robredo, Ancic, Djokovic, Nieminen, Tursonov, and Gonzalez are all possible finalists. I don't see an overwhelming favorite there.

I maintain that Richard is capable of beating any player in this tournament -- it's just a matter of stringing the wins together in one tournament (of course I make it sound easy -- it isn't).

Go, Richard! One match at a time! 'Smile'

MiamiTom, yes, in that bracket of those particular tennis players, I certainly don't envision a favorite myself, but, they're all definitely talented and fully capable of capturing this illustrious title. Yes, without a shadow of a doubt or hesitation in my mind, Mr. Gasquet can beat, conquer, and triumph over anyone on the male tennis circuit today. Absolutely no doubt about that Exclamation Richard is great not only as a single male tennis competitor, but also just as great in the men's field of double's competition. Being that Richard's sun is in gemini, that is primarily the reason why he can so easily adapt his tennis game. That's what makes for a phenomenal tennis player as opposed to maybe a mediocre one, in my opinion. GASQUET ALL THE WAY ALLEZ RICHARD FUEL, OPERATING, AND RUNNING ON ALL CYLINDERS OF THE SHEER FIRE POWER THAT IS TRULY GASQUET. GASQUET/GROSJEAN QUITE THE DYNAMIC DUO. GO OUT AND KICK SOME REAR TAIL I SAY Laughing Laughing

On another note, good luck to Xavier Malisse, The Belgian, as he faces Grosjean, The Frenchmen. In my estimation, it should be a killer of a tennis match. Xavier Malisse is ranked as third on my preferred list of top male tennis players, if you are wondering.

Richard will face Warwrinka in the 2nd round.
S Wawrinka (SUI) d M Gicquel (FRA) 76(6) 67(4) 76(2)

With Federer, Nadal, Ljubicic, Roddick, Nalbandian out the draw is more wide open. I feel as if Richard can get by his first two matches then its quite possible he could reach the semifinals/finals (depending on fitness, etc.) I'm not going to underestimate Wawrinka, but I feel as if Richard can beat him. After that, its most likely Marat in the 3rd round.

Allez Richard et Seb! Very Happy

Congratulations goes to the dynamic double duo of Richard Gasquet/Sebastien Grosjean for capturing victory over the double pairing of Berdych/Levinsky. Smile Hopefully, Gasquet/Grosjean will have a quite magnificent run here with this MS. I'm looking also forward for Richard to go even further in the bracket in singles competition. If his supreme level of optimum competition remains from Lyon, France, there is no stopping him from snatching another title Very Happy Wonderful wonderful win by the two frenchmen Very Happy I don't foresee too much difficulty in the tennis match for Richard against Wawrinka in the second round, but, even I could readily admit, underestimation is very dangerous. GASQUET ALL THE WAY ALLEZ RICHARD FUELED, OPERATING, AND RUNNING ON ALL CYLINDERS OF THE SHEER FIRE POWER THAT IS TRULY GALLANT GASQUET

On a side note, congratulations also goes out to The Frenchmen Sebastien Grosjean in singles competition by defeating Xavier Malisse, The Belgian.
