I decided to be daring. After having seen the draw, I concluded that this tournament needs its own thread, as Richard will go far.

Greul might be tricky because he beat Richie in two tiebreaks at Indian Wells this year. Of the top 10 seeds, Davydenko is probably the best one to draw because he has not been in-form. Bellucci is talented but has yet to do well on the big stage. If Richie makes it to the round of 16 against Roddick (or Monfils possibly), it is certainly a winnable match because he must be playing decently enough to make it that far. Not being drawn close to Federer or Nadal certainly is good news.

I cannot complain. the draw is as good as it gets. I just hope he gets to the first Saturday or Sunday as I was able to get tickets to the first weekend of the US Open.....so here's hoping he does well there and take advantage of a good draw (for a change ). By "good" draw, I meant no top player in the first round.....I think if he gets past Greul, Davydenko will be tough, but definitely better match-up than Nadal/Federer.

I really think it's a good draw and I have a feeling it would great USO for him. I hope to see Gasquet/Greul on Monday.

Agree with you all - this is a great draw for Richard and if he gets past Greul and Davydenko anything can happen. Would love to see him progress to the second week, and, why not, even win - maybe one day we will see the fighter within Richard appear and he just goes all the way in a Masters series and grand slam.

Any good free internet sites where I might get to see Richard play his first match on court 10? I will plan my day to get out of work so I can see the match but would love to receive some sites I can visit in the hope of seeing the match live. I'm excited and truly hope he gets past the first and second round. I just want him to come out on fire.

Thanks for your help in finding me sites to visit and yes, Puschkin, they will probably not show the match on court 10. Anyway, when I am not watching he seems to do very well, and hope this will be the case again today.

ReeshardGaskay - nice pics of Richard/andy in their Lacoste shirts and good they were practising together. Nice to see Richard working hard out there.
