Thanks for the video! It is great to see Richard so exited about his chances. I think Monfils will be tough, but I think Richard will win. Is it just me or does anyone else feel a real excitement about Richard's game at the moment.

Already he has a 10-1 win loss ratio. Unbelievable!

Actually, I thought Richard would play today but I have to wait until tomorrow to see the match. Yes, excited and hoping Richard will reach new heights this year.

does anyone have a link to a replay of the gasquet vs monfils match in montpellier today? i'm sitting at home with the flu so it is a good time to catch some tennis. as it was, i could only look at live score updates and it seemed like an up and down match for richard... or did monfils up his game considerably in the 2nd set?

Gael was poor in the first set, particularly at the beginning and a solid Richard was enough. In the second set, Gael served very well and Richard not so. In the third set, Richard stayed tough, kept being agressive even if not everything worked and he made Gael doubting. Gael' serve declined a bit and the road was open for Richard.

I have some doubts about the stats, though, 20 winners from Gael in the 2nd set seems a bit much to me. And oh yes, Richard hit a brilliant lob in the third set, which even Gael with his remarkable jumping ability had no chance to reach.

Thanks Puschkin for the match analysis with Monfils. I did see the match with Benneteau yesterday, Richard was in charge from the get go, then came the second set and I really do not know where Richard went but he did go somewhere mentally. Anyway, he came back in the 3rd to seal the victory which was great. I hope he will come out firing with Niminen, he will definitely need to, as the Finn gave him some trouble in BK last year with a close win for Richard.

Anyway, a great start for Richard this year and I hope he can keep it up all the way to the top 5. Looking forward to the match today and congrats to Richard.

Great win and another final!!!! Richard was great in the first and good in the third set. He made some great shot. I have no idea why he has played really poor 2nd sets throughout the tournament but the beginning and ends of matches this week are going well! Lets hope for a win of home turf tommorow it would be special for Richard. Allez!!! Very Happy
