Compatriot Florent Serra is Richard's first round opponent in Roland Garros 2008. In the second round, the winner of Sela/Hanescu will be waiting, followed by a possible third round encounter with Igor Andreev.
Gasquet is in Federer's quarter. Gonzalez, Karlovic, Monaco, Seppi and Wawrinka are also in this part of the draw. But Richard won't have to beat all of them as some are mutually exclusive.
