Richard's loss 6-7 6-4 3-6 to Novak Djokovic in his last match in London was overshadowed by the news, surprisingly coming out just before the match that Riccardo Piatti stopped working with him.
In the first set Richard managed to overcome an early break. He took the set into a tiebreak, but lost it 5-7. In the second set, Richard broke in the third game and kept his advantage till the end to win the set 6-4, despite a very low first serve percentage. Richard played a much better match than against Federer, but allowed the Serb to break once in the final set which was enough for Djokovic to go undefeteated in his group.
