 Richard defeated Tomas Berdych 2-6 6-3 6-4 6-1 and will play Roger Federer in the next round.
At the start of the match, Richard had not enough answers to Berdych's powerplay, but after the lost the first set, Richard got his act together, he served and returned better and could change the momentum of the match. Excellent defence and the right choice of moments of attack brought him sets 2 and 3. The final set was a bit error-prone from both, but it was Richard taking his chances when they came for a well deserved victory.
