This coming week, Richard Gasquet will play the Open 13 tournament in Marseille, France. This will be a good homecoming tournament for the French star who excelled this weekend in Davis Cup.
In the first round, Richard will face
fellow Frenchman, Arnaud Clement.
Order of play update: Gasquet/Grosjean vs Kaz/Petzschner is scheduled for Tuesday, fourth on Centre Court, with play for the day beginning at 10.00am local time. Tuesday's full order of play
The two French stars will have had a pretty good look at eachother's games this last week as they practised and trained together in Davis Cup. They have never played eachother before in an ATP or Grand Slam event.
Richard, who is seeded number five, is in the top half of the draw with top seed Rafael Nadal. Check out the full singles draw
Richard is also doubling up with another Davis Cup team mate - Sebastien Grosjean - for the doubles event. With both players in fine form, they should be a formiddable force. In the first round, they will face the unseeded German team of Kaz/Petzschner. Click here for the full doubles draw.
Richard had an extra day's rest as he sat out the reverse singles in Davis Cup. Clement and Llodra replaced Gasquet and Grosjean in Sunday's dead rubbers. Schuettler and Haas both won in straight sets for Germany, which meant the final score for the weekend, was Germany 2-3 France.
There will be no shortage of support for all of the French players in Marseille. The French showed great support in Halle, and will be sure to continue that this week.
