On the 21st March, the WTA and ATP will unite for the official awards party of professional tennis. The Four Seasons Hotel in Miami will host the event.
The world's greatest players will be honoured for their excellence and contribution to the game.
Richard Gasquet had an astonishing year last year, reaching the semifinals of TMS Monte Carlo, the finals of TMS Hamburg and fourth round appearances at both Wimbledon and the US Open. In addition, Richard also picked up his first title at Nottingham, and made his Davis Cup debut. Finally, not least, he was one of only four players to beat Roger Federer in 2005.
It is for the above reasons that Richard has been nominated for 'Most Improved Player'. The other nominees are Nikolay Davydenko, Ivan Ljubicic and Rafael Nadal.
