Top Frenchman Richard Gasquet on Thursday withdrew from the season-opening Next Generation Adelaide International with a knee injury, co-Tournament Director Peter Johnston said.
Johnston said Gasquet has decided he will still come to Adelaide in the lead-up to the tournament for media opportunities. The 21-year-old Frenchman plans to make his season debut Jan. 7-12 at the Medibank International in Sydney before participating in the Australian Open.
