Richard won his second round match against Simone Bolelli 6-7 (4) 6-3 7-6 (5)
The first set was strange, no long rallies, but Bolelli was able to dominate Richard, although the latter served well. Richard managed to save three breakpoints in the seventh game, but had to concede the tiebreak 4-7. Like yesterday, Richard did not lose courage after a lost set and improved considerably to take the second set with two breaks 6-3.
The third set was nerve-wrecking. Richard had more breakpoints, but could not convert them, the same with matchpoint in the 10th game. So a breaker had to decide. After two minibreaks exchanged, a courageous return led to a further minibreak at 5-5 and then Richard concluded with an ace.
He will face the winner of Clément/Murray tomorrow.
