Richard lost his second round match in Montpellier to Jarko Nieminen 6-4 6-7 2-6.

He will regret his three matchpoints - one of them on his own serve - in the second set, when he could have booked a comfortable two sets win.

According to French sources Richard got very agitated after this and never found his game again.

His next tournament is Basel.
