Richard will play Benoît Paire in the final of Montpellier.

Richard's quarter- and semifinal matches had exactly the same pattern. A solid first set, followed by a relatively weak second and a great revival in the third.

He beat his compatriot Julien Benneteau this way 6-1 4-6 and 6-1 in the quarter finals. In the semis, he disposed Jarko Nieminen 6-3 3-6 6-2.
