Richard reached the semifinals in Halle to play the winner of Kohlschreiber/Youzhny.

A year ago, Richard lost to Florain Mayer in Wimbledon, today was the day of revenge. The match was dominated by the servers. Richard fended off three breakpoints in the whole match and used the one he got to seal the first set.

The second set went to a breaker where Richard kept his concentration and scored the deciding minibreak with a beautiful backhand. There was no return for the German.
