Richard lost 3-6 2-6 to Mikhael Youzny in the Halle semifinals.

Broken already in his first service game, Richard never found his form of the first two matches. The serve was not clicking and the rest of the game was not up to the task either against the well playing Russian.

Richard is scheduled to play the Boodles Exhibition before Wimbledon.
