This is how Richard himself commented on his 6-2 6-1 7-5 victory against Bernard Tomic in the first round of Roland Garros. His next opponent is Carlos Berlocq.

Given the circumstances, he was right. Sidelined for the whole European clay sesaon due to a very painful back injury, Richard hesitated until the last moment whether to participate in the French Open or not.
