Richard Gasquet has advanced to the fourth round of the Pacific Life Open with a straight sets victory over Dominik Hrbaty 6-3, 6-4.

Gasquet, wearing a royal blue shirt, got off to a flying start, breaking Hrbaty to love in his opening service game. Richard consolidated the break to take a 3-0 lead.

Despite much pressure from the Frenchman on Hrbaty's serve, the rest of the set went with serve, and at 5-3, Richard closed out the set with an ace to take a one set to love lead.

Hrbaty had no time to run for cover as he was under fire immediately in the second set as he went 0-40 down. Clawing his way back though, he clung on to hold serve.

Gasquet, who did not face a break point all match, continued to hold serve comfortably in the second set, adding to the pressure on the Slovak's shoulders. At 4-4, Gasquet finally broke through Hrbaty's ranks as the Slovak found himself in hot waters down 0-40. Scrambling to save one break point, Hrbaty could not halt the Frenchman's onslaught as Gasquet broke for a 5-4 lead.

Richard who had a first serve percentage of 66% and served six aces had no trouble serving out the match. He will now face the winner of Roger Federer and Olivier Rochus.
