Richard comfortably won his first round at the Estoril Open, defeating Max Mirnyi 6-3, 6-3.

In the second round Richard will face Portugese wild card, Frederico Gil.

Richard took just over an hour to see off Mirnyi in round one. Facing just two break points in the match, Richard dominated on his first serve, and also returned well.
