Reigning champion Richard Gasquet crashed out of the Nottingham Open after his quarter-final with Arnaud Clement was switched indoors.

Gasquet lost 6-4 6-3 to his French compatroit after persistant rain left the outdoor grass courts unplayable.

Gasquet said: "It's really bad for me because I wanted to play on the grass.

"It's not the same conditions - it's like another tournament and it was too bad to play on this court. I'm used to playing on Centre Court."
