She has a pretty bad Aussie Open record. It was her breakthrough grand slam and she reached the 4th round in 2004 where she lost to Lisa Raymond.
In 2005 she lost in the 2nd round (to Abigail Spears )
In 2006 she lost in 1st round to Mara Santangelo.
This year though she has started the season looking much better, so i would expect (depending on the draw) a 3rd or 4th round result for Tati in Australia which would help her ranking points a lot

Tatiana has drawn her mortal enemy and mine in round 1, Anna Smashnova. I don't think i could take it if my fave player was beaten by my least fave but really Tati should win.
If Tati wins all her first 3 games then this is how i expect her draw to pan out...
1R Samshnova
2R Ondraskova
3R Peer
4R Kuznetsova
This is a good draw for Tati. The 2 non-seeds aren't the most threatening she could have got, Peer is the 16th seed and Tati had to meet someone seeded from 9-16 and Kuznetsova has been pulling out of recent tournaments with illness. Tati could go far

Tati won 6-3 6-1
I didn't see the match, but to win by that margin she must have been playing pretty good.
Now Tati will face Ondraskova they have never played each other before but tati should win.
Still, Ondraskova did win easily against Clarisa Fernandez.
Vamos Tati, you can win it!

I agree. He should date a model or if a tennis player could be Maria Kirilenko. She's amazing !
I disagree. Tati should date someone good looking, not Richard.
If people wanna criticise Tati's looks and advise Richard on his love life then i'll do the opposite. Gasquet is nothing special in terms of looks, and Tati should certainly do better than him
I think the whole looks thing is a stupid conversation to have. Let's try talking about Tati's game more and less about whether she's a possible girlfriend of Richi.

I feel like i'm updating for no-one
Tati beat Bychkova 6-4 6-4. I saw the 2nd set and Tati played quite well but she will have to raise her game to beat Justine Henin tomorrow. Vamos Tati!

We all appreciate the uppdates Sheva . Anyway, nice job of Tati by making the quarters, now comes the biggest test, to overcome Justine. I am a great fan of Justin's but she has been out for a couple of weeks and is maybe a bit "rusty" so that's something that could be of advantage to Tatiana.

No I truely enjoy the updates, especially because I can't see the matches myself...
It's wonderful that you are bothered the take the time to keep the rest of us (the forum) updated... Thanks!!
And of course good luck to Tatiana (even though I like Justine as well)!

Sorry i didn't just say that for the sake of praise, I thought that no-one was around as there have been very few posts in non-tennis for a while. Thanks for the thanks
Tatiana lost a close 3 set match with Justine. It was back and forth and Tati did excellent to win the second as she seemed to save about a million break points in it. However, Justine won the 3rd and so Tati went home. It was a good tournament and a good fight (though Justine lost the next round to Safarova).
Next tournament is in Antwerp where last year she was up a set and a break against Clijsters before losing. It is a really strong field and as such she has a horrible draw, here it is...
1)Amelie Mauresmo (FRA) vs Bye
Anna-Lena Groenefeld (GER) vs Qualifier
Martina Muller (GER) vs Michaella Krajicek (NED)
Elena Vesnina (RUS) vs (6)Dinara Safina (RUS)
(3)Nadia Petrova (RUS) vs Bye
Qualifier vs Vera Zvonareva (RUS)
(WC)Caroline Maes (BEL) vs Sybille Bammer (AUT)
Eleni Daniilidou (GRE) vs (7)Anna Chakvetadze (RUS)
(5)Patty Schnyder (SUI) vs (WC)Kirsten Flipkens (BEL)
Tatiana Golovin (FRA) vs Katarina Srebotnik (SLO)
Elena Likhovtseva (RUS) vs Qualifier
Bye vs (4)Elena Dementieva (RUS)
(8)Ana Ivanovic (SRB) vs Lucie Safarova(CZE)
Qualifier vs Nathalie Dechy (FRA)
Olga Poutchkova (RUS) vs Severine Bremond (FRA)
Bye vs (2)Kim Clijsters (BEL)
To be fair, it could have been worse but Srebotnik in round 1 is very hard, then Schnyder, she has been playing badlly lately but has a good record against Tati and then most likely Dementieva who Tati has a good record against. Basically each of her first 3 matches could go either way.
Vamos Tati!
Oh and also, here is a video of Tatiana from Eurosport. She is doing a serious of videos such as these for her fans and i really enjoyed this. So, here ya go...

Tatiana seems to have solid draw, but Srebotnik is quite a good player so she needs to step it up from the beginning in that match.Anyway good luck Tati!
